Dear client,
Unfortunately, Melodify Distribution has observed a steady increase in copyright infringements within our group of labels, compelling us to take immediate action to address this issue.
As a company, we strongly value originality and content creation. Original music represents the creativity, time, and effort of its creator, and illegally copying it undermines the value of their work and discourages further innovation.
Some examples of copyright infringements include, but are not limited to:
a. hidden recordings: These appear to be original artist recordings but contain one or more “hidden” recording snippets within the track.
b. copycat recordings: These are typically simple copies of popular recordings, but have been given a different artist name and title.
c. viral mixes or mashups: Contains multiple recordings that have been mixed together, usually to create fraudulent matches.
d. sped up / slowed down tracks: Songs that have been altered by increasing or decreasing the beats per minute.
e. other violations: such as using illegal samples or creating songs with generic sounds to generate fraudulent matches, etc.
We have now adopted a zero-tolerance policy against copyright infringements and are committed to preventing any form of fraud. Effective immediately, if we receive a copyright infringement notice for a specific label and determine that the label has deliberately submitted fraudulent releases through our company, we have implemented the following measures:
- We will close down the label’s account, preventing the upload of any new releases.
- We will immediately remove the label’s releases from all platforms.
- We will suspend all royalty statements and payment of the label indefinitely.
Therefore, we request that all labels, including yours, to fill in and sign the form via the button below, to acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions effective today. If you do not sign before October 01 – 2024, we see no other option to execute points 1. to 3. above during next month.
